Worker First Advocates is able to advocate for your entitlement to:

  • If your claim was denied, we work to have it accepted.

  • We push to make sure you get the wage replacement you deserve—both past (retroactive) and ongoing.

  • We help secure supplements to cover lost income, retroactive and current.

  • We make sure your permanent disability is rated fairly and request increases when appropriate.

  • We connect you with vocational services to support your return to meaningful work.

  • We fight for allowances that make daily living easier—like help with home maintenance, housekeeping, personal care, meal costs, and travel.

  • If your injury leads to other health issues, we’ll ensure they’re also accepted and covered.

Any WCB-Alberta client is invited to reach out for assistance, including (but not limited to):

  • If your injury happened before 1995, we know how to navigate the older system.

  • Support for mental health-related injuries, including psychiatric or psychological conditions.Advocacy for chronic pain or chronic pain syndrome.

  • Help with musculoskeletal injuries that impact mobility and strength.

  • Severe injuries such as burns, amputations, quad/paraplegia or spinal cord injury, brain injury, occupational disease (as described in schedule B of the Workers’ Compensation Act), vision loss, hearing loss

  • Assistance with serious joint and back injuries, including shoulders, knees, hips, wrists, or spine issues.

  • Standing by your side in contentious or complicated claim situations where WCB communication feels overwhelming.

At Worker First Advocates, we understand how important proper medical support is for your recovery. That’s why, when needed, we can help arrange truly independent medical examinations, functional evaluations, and even home or personal care assessments. These steps can make a big difference in ensuring your compensation is fair and reflects your real needs.

We also work directly with your healthcare providers so nothing gets missed and you receive the best possible outcome for your situation.

If needed, we’ll also take your case to the Appeals Commission for Alberta Workers’ Compensation.
